For Windows

To print from  Windows XP , Windows Vista or Windows 7 , you have to setup the printer queues to connect to our central CUPS printserver. A step be step description on how to setup the printers is  available as PDF.

If you are running 64bit Windows you may also need to download the 64bit printer drivers for the printers directly from manufacturers support website.

For Linux

All printers are addressed via the Cups server:

For Mac OS X

Printing from Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9 is supported. All users can setup their computers to print via our central CUPS printserver.

Printer Queue Status

You can check the status of your print job by opening the following URL http://quantinfra:631/printers/  in a web browser. Select the queue you want to check from the list of printers displayed. Here you can check active print jobs and completed print jobs.

To print on the large format 'Poster Printer

This is a central service offered by the IT Group in Room 062.  You should submit your finished document to support-it(at)bioquant.uni-heidelberg.de .  It is best to send you file as a PDF where possible.  As soon as the data is received, the IT group will print a A4 test print on the plotter to ensure that all data and graphics look correct.  If all is correct the final printout is made in the required size.

If you require Photo quality paper you must inform the IT Group before your final printout is made.
