Biomedical Computer Vision Group

The research group Biomedical Computer Vision (BMCV) develops methods and algorithms for computer-based analysis of biological and medical images, in particular, cell microscopy images. A main aim is to derive quantitative information about cellular structures, tissue, and organs based on multi-modal image data. Research topics are cell segmentation and tracking, particle detection and tracking, non-rigid image registration, vessel segmentation, and landmark localization using deep learning methods, model-based methods, and probabilistic methods.

The BMCV group belongs to Heidelberg University, BioQuant Center, IPMB, and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).
