Quantification of the Morphology of Human Vessels from 3D Tomographic Image Data (DFG Project)

Development of model-based approaches for accurate quantification of the 3D morphology of human blood vessels from 3D tomographic images (e.g., 3D CTA, 3D MRA). The approaches combine 3D cylindrical intensity models with incremental model fitting. The main application domain is the quantification of the aortic arch and its main bifurcating branches for improved operation planning using stent grafts.
