Project: Influence of prior immunity on novel immune responses in influenza A virus infection

Antonia successfully finished her Masterthesis in our group, in which she developed a model to analyze the effect of repeated vaccinations against influenza A infection on the individual immune response. She is currently continuing to work on this project in collaboration with the groups of Derek Smith and Jürgen Pahle, before starting her PhD studies with Derek Smith. In her current work, she applies the developed model to experimental and clinical data using approaches from machine learning and Bayesian inference in order to determine the influence of prior immunity on the development of novel immune responses.
