Supriya Khedkar, PI

           

Supriya is interested in the evolution of microbial genomes and communities. She is fascinated by the adaptability and resilience of microbes, and dedicated to understanding how microbes adapt and evolve.

She is a computational microbiologist trained in microbiology, molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics. Supriya obtained her PhD at National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore in bacterial genomics where she worked on bacterial epigenetics, and studied chromosome organization and architecture in bacteria. Before starting her lab at BioQuant, she worked at EMBL Heidelberg in Peer Bork's group where she began her research on Mobile Genetic Elements.
